At Artistic Memorials & Sculptures, we create unique, handcrafted headstones and memorials, individually designed and made at our workshop in Ballymacelligott, near Tralee, County Kerry.
We understand that choosing a memorial is deeply personal. We take the time to listen to your ideas and work with you to create a lasting memorial that reflects the life, personality and memory of your loved one.
Every memorial can be made to suit your individual wishes, from the choice and shape of the stone to the lettering, artwork and finishing details. We work with a wide range of natural stone, including Valentia Slate, Kilkenny Limestone, sandstone, marble, granite, alabaster and other carefully selected stone suited to each individual memorial.
Our headstones and memorials can include traditional hand-carved lettering, original artwork, sculpture, handcrafted stained glass, ceramic photographs and personalised designs. Lettering can be finished in gold leaf, painted or left in its natural stone finish.
Based near Tralee, we create and fit headstones and memorials for families throughout Kerry, including Tralee, Killarney, Dingle, Listowel, Killorglin and Cahersiveen, as well as further afield.

Headstone Cleaning, Maintenance & Restoration
Over time, headstones and memorials can become weathered, discoloured or affected by moss, lichen and the natural Irish weather. We offer headstone cleaning, maintenance and restoration services to help care for older memorials and bring them back to their best.
Our work can include professional cleaning, polishing, repainting or regilding lettering, restoring inscriptions, adding additional names and carrying out general repairs and maintenance where required.
Every stone is different, so we take care to use methods suited to the type, age and condition of the stone, whether it is granite, marble, limestone, sandstone, Valentia Slate or another natural stone.
We can also work on older family headstones and memorials that may need some attention before an additional name or inscription is added, helping the existing memorial look its best while respecting its original character.

Additional Names & Headstone Lettering
We provide additional names, inscriptions and lettering for existing headstones and memorials, carefully matching the style and character of the original stone wherever possible.
Whether a new name, date, personal message or additional inscription is required, we take great care to ensure the new lettering sits naturally alongside the existing work.
We offer traditional hand-carved lettering with a range of finishes, including gold leaf, painted lettering and natural carved stone. Where needed, we can also clean and restore the existing memorial so that the new inscription complements the original.

Pet Memorials
We understand that pets are part of the family, and losing one can be incredibly difficult. At Artistic Memorials & Sculptures, we create personalised pet memorials in stone, giving families a lasting way to remember a much-loved companion.
Each pet memorial can be individually designed and handcrafted to suit you, from a simple engraved stone with a name, dates or personal message to something more detailed featuring hand-carved artwork, a portrait, paw prints or other personal touches that remind you of your pet.
We work with a wide range of natural stone and can create memorials in different shapes, sizes and styles, suitable for a garden, home or another special place.

House Name Stones
We create handcrafted house name stones and personalised stone signs, individually designed and made at our workshop near Tralee, County Kerry.
Each name stone can be made to suit the character and style of your home, whether you are looking for a traditional Irish house name, family name, townland name or something completely personal to you.
We work with a wide range of natural stone, including Valentia Slate, Kilkenny Limestone, sandstone, granite and other carefully selected stone. Lettering can be traditionally hand-carved and finished in gold leaf, paint or its natural stone finish, with artwork and decorative details added where desired.
From traditional cottages and family homes to entrances, gardens and businesses, every house name stone is made individually and designed to last for generations.

Sculpture & Public Stonework
We consider all of our work to be sculpture. Alongside our headstones and memorials, we work on many different sculpture projects, including figurative and abstract sculpture, as well as whatever else inspires us.
Our sculpture has been exhibited nationwide as well as at The Mansion House in Dublin, Cork Opera House, Siamsa Tíre in Tralee and the Frank Lewis Gallery in Killarney.
For over 30 years, we have worked with Kerry County Council on public works and projects throughout the county, creating distinctive stonework and sculpture that has become part of Kerry’s towns, villages and public spaces.
Our work can be seen in many locations throughout County Kerry. These include the Fenit Mermaid, along with work connected with the South Kerry Greenway, Tralee Northern Relief Road and Listowel Bypass, as well as many other monuments, sculptures and pieces of public stonework throughout Kerry.
These projects allow us to bring together traditional stone carving, sculpture, original artwork, lettering and handcrafted stained glass to create pieces that reflect the people, history and places around them.
One of our recent pieces for the South Kerry Greenway combines carved stone, detailed artwork, Irish and English lettering and colour to mark an important development for South Kerry.
Whether it is a large public sculpture, a memorial or a smaller personal piece, we bring the same care, creativity and traditional craftsmanship to everything we make.
We take great pride in seeing work created in our workshop in Ballymacelligott become part of the landscape of Kerry.
Cost & Pricing
As every headstone and memorial we create is individually designed and handcrafted, there is no single set price. The cost depends on the type and size of stone, lettering, artwork, design and the amount of work involved in creating and fitting the finished memorial.
We understand that every family has different ideas and different budgets. We will take the time to talk through what you would like and help you find something personal and suitable for you. A meaningful memorial does not have to be the largest or most elaborate — what matters is that it feels right for your family and the person being remembered.
